"We are all life long learners."
My name is Merlene Eads. This is my 13th year teaching at Our Lady of the Angels School. I have been teaching in the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph for twenty-nine years. My education degree was through St. Mary University in Leavenworth, Kansas. I enjoy teaching and consider it a privilege to work with the children. I am currently teaching third grade.
Our core subjects include: religion, reading, language arts, math, social studies and science. We read often and are into reading chapter books. Math skills include memorization of basic addition and subtraction facts and memorization of times tables through twelve. We work on carrying and borrowing in two and three column math problems along with learning many problem solving skills. We also learn to read and write using cursive handwriting. We continue to learn proper punctuation, capitalization and writing skills.
Third graders are eager to learn and to discover the wonders of the world through education.
